What stainless steel products are available from SEW-EURODRIVE? What are the advantages of stainless steel for our drives? What stainless steel are SEW-EURODRIVE stainless steel products made of? Where are stainless steel drives used?

Our Stainless steel servomotors from the CM2H.. series are easy to clean and resistant to acids and alkalis. There are no corners, edges or recesses in the housing where liquids or dirt could be deposited and collect. The stainless steel servomotors are available with either a B5 flange or a B14 flange on the output side. This ensures flexibility in the machine design.

The Stainless steel servo geared motors from the PSH..CM2H.. series series comply with the strict guidelines of the European Hygienic Engineering Design Group (EHEDG) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, they are specially designed for applications where dynamics and positioning are important, such as slicer machines.

Our Stainless steel gearboxes from the RES.., KES.. and WES.. series are based on our standard gearbox modular system. Thanks to their hygienic design and alkali- and acid-resistant surface, the stainless steel gearboxes are particularly easy to clean. They are available in the gear unit types helical gear units (RES..), bevel gear units (KES..) and SPIROPLAN® right-angle gear units (WES..).

The RES../KES../WES.. stainless steel geared motors combine the stainless steel gearboxes of the RES.., KES.. and WES.. series with an asynchronous stainless steel motor. Efficiency-optimized, durable and easy to maintain, these stainless steel geared motors bring hygiene and ease of cleaning to the point.

Our AESMS... and AESQS... stainless steel adapters are an innovative way of connecting standardized asynchronous motors (to IEC or NEMA) and stainless steel servomotors. The stainless steel adapters are compatible with the RES..., KES... and WES... stainless steel gearbox series.

What are the advantages of stainless steel in our drives?

Manufactured on the basis of high-quality stainless steels and designed in protection classes up to IP69K, our stainless steel drives and stainless steel adapters are specially designed for permanent use in damp and hygiene-sensitive environments. This is because these stainless steel products not only withstand high humidity, changing temperatures and superheated steam. They are also resistant to corrosive cleaning agents such as alkalis or acids. This makes our stainless steel products ideal for clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilization-in-place (SIP) processes.

In addition, thanks to the rounded radii greater than 3 mm, there are no corners or edges. This makes cleaning much easier. Thanks to their solid and robust design, our stainless steel actuators and stainless steel adapters guarantee a long service life with maximum availability.

What stainless steel are the stainless steel products from SEW-EURODRIVE made of?

We only use high-quality stainless steel (V2A SS304) for our stainless steel drives and stainless steel adapters. V2A (AISI 304 / 1.4301) are steel alloys with chromium and nickel (CrNi steel). Due to their resistance to water, water vapor, humidity, food acids and corrosive cleaning agents, these stainless steels are ideal for use in the food industry, beverage production and the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, among others.

Where are stainless steel drives used?

The milk processing industry is one of the classic areas of application with hygienic requirements for our stainless steel drives. Here, for example, aseptic filling and sealing machines equipped with appropriately resistant drive technology are indispensable in the process of filling yoghurt, pudding and drinkable products into cups, buckets or jars. The same hygiene and cleaning requirements apply to processes in which slicers (cutters) are used. Our stainless steel drives are the ideal choice for these machines to ensure that sausage and cheese can be cut hygienically.
